There were rumours, and we were waiting for the confirmation which came this morning: Mark Higgins will bring an MG Super 2000 to the Ypres Rally.
For the first time since the IRC was created, four manufacturers will be present in the Super 2000 category, although it must be said that MG cannot score any points as a manufacturer since they are not officially enrolled in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
It won't be the first time Mark Higgins will be at the start of the Belgium Ypres Westhoek Rally, but he will surely have to dig deep into his memory as his only two participations now go back to 1994 (Honda Civic Gr.N, 2nd in class) and 1998 (Nissan Almera kit car, retirement).
Everyone is interested in comparing the performances of the MG with the other Super 2000 cars; it will be another card up the sleeve of the Belgian meeting.
