Lewin Takes England Role Full Time

Mon 09 Jun, 06:09 PM

England's part-time physiotherapist Gary Lewin is to join the national team on a permanent basis from August 1, ending an association with Arsenal which goes back more than 21 years.

Lewin has worked with England since 1996 and his appointment as head of physiotherapy is part of England manager Fabio Capello's plan to assemble a full-time medical support staff for the national team.

"I'm delighted that Gary is joining us. He has a tremendous amount of experience and will be a huge asset to the squad," said Capello.

Lewin added: "I'm obviously very sad to leave Arsenal after such a long time but very excited about the role that the FA have offered to me, it will be a great challenge."
