Bury boss Alan Knill has played down speculation linking him with the Swansea job.
Current Swans boss Roberto Martinez is widely expected to be appointed as the new manager of his former club Wigan this week and Knill is an early favourite to replace him at the Liberty Stadium.
Knill made 89 appearances for the Swans in the late Eighties before moving to Bury. He has transformed the Shakers into promotion contenders in League Two and admits he is flattered by the speculation.
He told the Bury Times: "To be linked to Swansea is flattering but there isn't a job there at the moment.
"I must say, however, that they are a great club with unbelievable potential. They are now starting to realise some of that potential since they moved into their new stadium.
"It is good to be linked with the job, but I wouldn't even be in the frame if my players hadn't performed so well this season."

Alan nill dosen't want the job, thats good for Bury, we want him to stay and get promoted next season, come on you shakers!!!!!
i dont see why swansea dont go for gary speed of sheffield uts the club have given swansea prtmission to talk to him alan knill will be no good we need a manager of a higher level
The great thing about Swansea is the style of football they play, they need a manager who plays good stylish football. I have seen Swansea play at Southend 3 or 4 times over the years, and to be honest they are a very good football side with great support you could do a lot worse than Steve Tilson who like Martinez got Southend promoted twice and promotes good passing football. The biggest fear would be the players he could take with him.
we will be the biggest joke this year no offence to alan knill but we need a proven championship manager or better
Why are Swansea after the managers in the lower leagues?? gogo get Paul Ince instead
