Try to come up with a new comment. You have already posted that one several times.

Stick to the facts about Federer's competition was a good idea, but you missed lots of names undermining your argument.

Your comments lack objectivity which is a shame because I am sure that a good case can be made against Federer being the best of all time.... however, you got it plain wrong. Period.

everybody says that Federer won because Nadal or Djokovici lost. Well....why did they lost? I wonder..if Federer would have lost in 2008 at Wimbledon before the final, they would say the same thing, that Nadal only won because Federer didn't make the final....this is so stupid...Federer won beacuse , this year he was better then the others ( Nadal, Djokovici, Davidenko,Murray, Roddick, Blake,Gonzalez, Soderling,Haas, Monfils, Matthieu, Acasuso, del Potro etc).I think these are big names...so the era dilema is also just stupid.
If nadal were that good, he would've made the final...

  7. Federer is the best but watch out for Nadal. Time is on his side. Anyone who thinks the competition is poor knows nowt. The world number 100 would dominate tennis if you threw him back 15 years, players have improved so much. Its the same in all sports.

  8. I think Roger is the greatest SINGLES player, especially with his shot-making ability. Last year's press about him being past it was laughable. Laver with 2 GS and Borg with 5 Wimbledon's had greater opposition I think (Laver had Emerson, Newcombe, Roche, Stolle, Rosewall and Borg had McEnroe, Connors).

McEnroe is the best ALL-ROUND player though as he was great at singles and doubles (though his playing character left something to be desired). Laver, Emerson, Newcombe must be close.

Nadal (as Connors, McEnroe, Sampras) have mental strength I think Roger slightly lacks. More interesting to me is how long Nadal will last in terms of injury. Most commentators seem to think his superlative aggressive style is not maintainable injury-free over several years.

  9. It amazes me some of the critics of Federer. When confronted they always seem to know little about the actual game of Tennis. Always finding excuses for things.

Common one is that Federer had no competition compared to Sampras. I disagree. Roddick and Hewiit were his competetion and he just dominated them in Grand Slams finals and semi-finals. Hasn't he also beaten Murrey and Djokovic in the U.S Open finals and beated Novak in the semi-finals last year?

To the Federer haters that won't be enough but what about this?

Tin Henman played both Sampras and Federer in their primes and says Roger was the better all round player.

ANDRE AGASSI played both Sampras and Federer in their primes and said Roger was the tougher opponent to play.

Not to mention Conners, McEnroe, Laver, Agassi and Sampras all say HE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

Do the words of Tennis legends mean nothing to the Fed haters? Or do you prefer to live in a fantasy world of denial of reality!

Just pure speed and gracefulness and perfect shotmaking. Keep it up and I'm looking forward to Wimbledon already. You are such a gentleman, never swearing like Murray and others. Good luck to Merka and baby.

There are no words to express how much I hate this crying S.O.B., especially after winning RG, goddammit, the crying pu$..$y finally made it and he only did it because Rafa crashed in the worst possible moment. Yet again I've learned something very important: never say never...

  14. Opinions are like a face; everyboby has one,and they are entitled to be seen. Who is better or best is always a passionate relative argument anywhere, anytime, anyplace. However, facts and statistics speak for themselves and are undeniable: The only players to win 14 GS are Sampras and Federer, and between the two of them only Federer has won a career Grand Slam, so you be the judge. The arguments about era are also relative, and besides I used to read on this same page how Federer was finished, in decline etc. It begs the question: What happened to Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, and co? They all played in this years RG and none of them even made the semifinals. When you compare that to Federer who has made Five consecutive GS finals (I will not try to count consecutive GS semifinal appearances) you are looking at a man who has to be appreciated. When Legends like Agassi, Sampras, Borg, Mcenroe are acknowledging him, I really wonder why ignorant people (myself inclusive) should question their judgement. Finally, all the hate-mail and emotion-ridden opinions on this page amount to NOTHING. The man (Federer) is winning more titles, making more money, and frankly doesnt give a f*** about all our talk.

  20. The fact that Melvin listed Henman and Bjorkman in Sampras era tells you all you need to know about this stupid so called Tennis fan.

Also wasn't Hewitt in Rogers so called era? what about Agassi? Henman? Haas? Mark. P (philiposis) as you called him? He has beaten these people in grand slam finals and semi-finals. Also erm who did Roger beat in Aussie open finals? Gonzales and Bagdatis? as well as Djorkovic and Murray in the U.S open finals!

What a loser! Ignorant on absolute basics of Tennis. Just ignore this idiot everyone. Clearly knows nothing about the game.
