Dimitar Berbatov's agent has said the striker has no intention of quitting Manchester United this summer.
Berbatov did not make the impact most United fans were expecting following his club record £30.75 million arrival from Tottenham last summer.
"Despite speculation that he may leave, I want to declare that Dimitar will play at Manchester United next season," Emil Dantchev told Dnevnik.
The Bulgarian was left out of Alex Ferguson's starting line-up for a series of key games at the end of last season, including the Champions League final, and failed to have any impact when he was introduced as a substitute against Barcelona.
It led to increased speculation Ferguson might look to cut his losses on Berbatov and accept, like Juan Sebastian Veron, the player's economical style was not in keeping with the rest of United's make-up.
However, Berbatov intends to remain a Red Devil, with Dantchev confirming his commitment to the Old Trafford cause.
"There is no desire from the management for any separation," he added. "He will stay and we hope that he will win what he missed out on this year."
If Berbatov is set to stay, it looks increasingly likely Carlos Tevez (pictured left with Berbatov) will be leaving, quite possibly for Manchester City.
United chief executive David Gill was intending to have one final go at talking the Tevez camp into accepting their offer for a player, whose two-year loan has come to an end amid much disgruntlement from the Argentina star, who has been frustrated at a perceived lack of appearances.
However, speculation suggests Tevez has opted to join City, who have already signed Gareth Barry for £12m, although there has been no confirmation from any party.

You United fans make me laugh...how can Berbatov be a flop when Fergie didn't use him half the time as he couldn't play him, Tevez, Rooney AND Ronaldo all in the same team. If i remember, the times Berbatov has played he's usually done ok, even if he'd hadn't scored. Put it this way would you rather have him or Robinho in your team?....personally i go for Berbatov every time. Robinho's just a showboating pony who goes AWOL away from home. As a Chelsea fan I'd be extremely annoyed if we signed Robinho!...i don't want him at Chelsea, he can stay at City. The guy lacks passion and has no determination whatsoever. Berbatov on the otherhand does possess these qualities but was denied a chance to show them much last season. If fergie plays him more this coming season i believe United fans will soon start to like him more and he'll certainly deliver.

lol wot a load of all tosh.......did'nt Sheringham start slowly there too?? Atleast they won some trophies!! And pavluchenko came to spurs after playing a whole russian season no rest............so lets judge him early next season!! COYS
What a waste money he is!! i would NOT pay for than £8m for him!
The most important thing for United next season is to strengthen the midfield. Personally I think Berbatov is a great player but like most other forwards he needs decent service to thrive. The most important player missing last year was Owen Hargreaves - he wins the ball, works hard and distributes well. Park tries his best but lacks quality especially end product. Nani is @#$%, Anderson is a decent player but off the pace and doesnt score enough. Giggs was a great player in the past but doesn't really cut it in midfield. Scholes can still do it but needs someone alongside him with legs. Carrick can't tackle and his habit of going for the Hollywood pass at every opportunity gives the ball away too much. Overrated - best bit of business Spurs has even done. If we can't get Hargreaves back then Fergie's going to have to go to the market and buy an tackler and box to box workhorse. Gareth Barry would have been a good fit but he's overpriced but has gone to City. It's that kind of player we need.
I can't understand why there are some people who think that Berbatov has been a disappointment at United - really?? if you want the definition of a flop just look at Pavylechenko at Spurs....the guy they bought to replace Berbatov. You could even go across Manchester and take Robinho at City as a prime example of a big disappointment. Berbatov may have a reputation as being abit aloof and sullen but he's no showboating pony like Robinho, the ultimate foootball mercenary. Robinho is reportedly unhappy at City...well if he'd pulled his finger out more maybe City would be playing in Europe next season. Another thing about Berbatov is that while he may not always get in the first team unlike crybaby Robinho he doesn't majke a scene. Robinho doesn't deserve City, they should sell him to Burnley, he'd soon stop moaning about City. Berbatov has been a success, should stay at United (especially if they sell Tevez) and will prop do even better nxt season. With regards to Robinho the jury is still very much out on this one. Hugely skillful he maybe but this alone ain't enough if you want to prosper in the Premiership, having guts, determinination and a steely streak can get you so much further....just look at Drogba as evidence of these qualities.
£695m in debt. scoles, giggs, pedo neville, all due for the (scrap yard). ronald, tevez (leaving utd). £18m - hargreaves (career over).
now £30m berbatov is staying at utd.
and they say liverpool are in dark times.

Berba is lazy and doesnt fit in our game style, in fact he wouldnt fit in at any of Englands top four sides, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal. He is better of joining mediocre clubs such as Spurs. Liverpool, West ham etc
No Cups at the KOP ! ! ! LOL LOL LOL LOL
we have give a player a season to settle in! i cannot see where he,l improve on last season myself, we really need to beef up midfield, it is weak in that department!
BERBAFLOP LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dimi will be the next Cantona; of that i am sure. As for the comments about the lack of effort from Dimi, the most aggresive moment in Cantona's brilliiant Utd career was off the pitch incident at Selhurst Park. You do not need to running around the pitch like a fox hound to justify a £30 million price tag. Sir Alex brought Dimi to the club for his football brilliance, his hold up play, the ability to find the killer pass and Dimi did not let anyone down in that respect. Give the guy time to settle, he needs to be playing every game, not the erratic starts he had last season. He will get the starts because Tevez will be gone; we will see all that Dimi has to offer and he will be the impoact player that we are needing. People are talking about Messi and Iniesta running the show in Rome; lets face the facts here; in 4 previous encounters against English teams in the CL (2 against Man Utd in 2007/8 season and 2 against Chelsea in 2008/9 season) Barca and their stars were closed out completely; had it not been for a bent ref then Chelsea (the rightful team) would have been in Rome;
how did berbatov get labeled lazy? i know he has a languid style but if he was top man in assists obviously he did something. ive tried to find numbers to support the lazy claim but i cant find anything anywhere. im glad hes staying, now he has something to prove and he'll play like a man possessed. however, i would like to see some statistical data on meters ran vs tevez or anyone else, to back up the lazy claim.
the thing is that when you look for flaws, you'll find them.
you cant make a silk purse out of a Sow's ear. He just doesnt fit. Better he walks.
Rooney best player in Europe? It is always great to read comedic comments like that by people that do not look beyond the premiership. If he was really the best player in Europe he would have made an impact in the champions league finals no matter where his manager told him to play. He would have outscored a below par Ronaldo, who spent almost the entire season on the wings unlike previous seasons but still outscored Rooney in every competition this season. This is the "best player in Europe's" scoring record in the later stages of champions league last season played 7 scored 1 against Porto and that was from a horrendous back pass. And his position is a striker. I am sure the likes of Torres, Iniesta, Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka, Gerrard etc are bowing down to the true master
Berbatov is a very talented striker - but ability means little if you won't move your feet to put yourself somewhere near where the ball is; if you let Vlad the Impaler hang around the opposition's box & deliver the ball to him, he's great: otherwise, a liability. Tottenham did the best business they've done for a while when they squeezed such a ridiculously inflated price for him.
The dude is a waste of money, we should not have sold Saha for this!
That means he'll sign for some other club by the end of the week. They all swear they'll stay one minuet and leave the next. Can't trust them, least of all the agents.
