Fletcher interest in Celtic switch

Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher has revealed his desire to be reunited with Tony Mowbray if the West Brom boss moves to Celtic.

The 22-year-old played under Mowbray during their time together at Easter Road and has cited the Hoops target as a major influence on his career.

Celtic failed with a bid for the highly-rated striker back in January, but Fletcher believes now is the time to quit Hibs for a new challenge. Speaking of Mowbray, he told the Herald: "He was a massive influence, not just as a manager but as a friend too."

He added: "It`s up to the chairman. I want to push myself to further my career and if that means moving on from Hibs, then so be it.

"I`m ambitious and, if the opportunity comes along again, I think now might be the right time to leave.

"When Celtic were knocked back, I was a bit disappointed but I thought I handled it well.

"I kept scoring goals. It didn`t affect me in a bad way."

  13. Celtic need about 10 decent players as so many duds are­ leaving. Naka away, boruc will go, hartley going, jvoh,­ going, samaras going, mybe caldwell, mac manus def­ going. Plus more fringe players. Oh and brown will be­ sold. Celtic wont spend money unless they get money in.­ No champs league money so brown's gotta go im­ afraid.

    I WOULD NOT BE­ SPENDING THE LARGEST CHUNK OF MY DOUGH ON FLETCHER WHEN­ THERE IS A BACK 4 THATS BEEN NEGLECTED AND OVERLOOKED­ FOR MANY A YEAR!!!
