Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has revealed he "is in with a shout" of bringing West Ham striker Freddie Sears to Hillsborough.
Laws wants teenager Sears, who has also been in talks with Peterborough, on a season-long loan.
Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We are in with a shout of signing Freddie, but there are other clubs interested in him too.
"Freddie is currently on holiday, but we will meet up again when he gets back."
Peterborough chairman Barry Fry claimed last week his club had been pipped to the signing the 19-year-old as West Ham favoured a more lucrative offer from the Owls.

hmmm
I reckon we should keep Freddie and loan Sheff Utd Boa Morte and Faubert for 500,000 a week - that should be enough to see the money grabbers relegated again................
Shows good promise, and definitely needs first team football. Should have loaned him to Sheffield Utd for 500,000 a week!!!
I agree , would be a great signing and invaluable experience for him , as defoe proved at bournmouth .
Great for Wednesday and for the hammers. Sears is prolific in the reserves. Also has scored in the prem. I think this could be like when Defoe went to bournmouth.
Good signing for Wedneday as I seen him last year he is a hot prospect
