Motherwell have denied making an approach to Partick Thistle boss Ian McCall about replacing Mark McGhee.
McGhee looks set to join Aberdeen after Fir Park chiefs reluctantly gave the Dons permission to hold talks with their manager. Reports on Tuesday claim McCall is now in the frame for the potential vacancy at Motherwell and that a formal approach had been made to his agent.
However, the Lanarkshire club have refuted those claims, with chairman John Boyle insisting: "We are in discussions with no-one regarding Mr McCall."
McCall has also been linked with a return to Falkirk, after John Hughes quit for Hibernian on Monday.
However, the Partick boss has reportedly been offered a new three-year deal to encourage him to remain at Firhill.

mcghee left motherwell in a mess with key players leaving he has left us in a worse state than when he got here , hes a one trick pony , but thanks for the good season last year that has to be said , but was it mcghee or was it really mcormack
mcghee clearly doesn't want the aberdeen job as he's holding out for celtic.
he won't be welcome back at firpark anyway. good riddance.
keep mcghee we don't want him at Aberdeen, where did motherwell finish in the league
Is that a wish No1?
If Ian McCall is the standard Motherwell are aiming at then, I for one wouldn't look foward to the future.
Thanks for the talented manager anyway
