Perez courts Ronaldo once more

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has promised to do "everything possible" to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

Perez vowed to continue to target `galacticos' after completing the £59million capture of Brazil playmaker Kaka from AC Milan on Monday night.

Perez - who recently returned for a second spell as Bernabeu supremo - has given the strongest indication yet that he intends to revive his policy of signing world stars, which previously saw the likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and David Beckham arrive in the Spanish capital.

And world player of the year Ronaldo appears to be top of his list. He told Onda Cero and Radio Marca: "I will do everything possible to get Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

"Kaka is (just) the first signing."

Asked about reports Manchester United have allowed Ronaldo to sign a pre-contract with Madrid, Perez said: "I have read about this but I have been at this club a week and not seen anything about this."

  2. This is a boring article. If ferguson says he wont sell­ ronaldo. he wont. Not for atleast another few years, he­ has a long contract. Why would they sell him? they won­ the league... they were champions league runners up.­ They might lose tevez so ronaldo isnt going anywhere, i­ guarantee it. Real will have to wait or find someone­ else. And the more real keep badgering manchester­ united about ronaldo, the less chance they have of­ actually getting him.

  4. Ferie, you need just to see the positive side and deal­ with it. If it's true Ronaldo can be priced at 75M­ pounds, then it's a good idea to sell him to Real­ Madrid. After all, we have already got the best out of­ Ronaldo and we need to see another person becoming the­ World footballer of the whom we nurture from the­ youthful stage just like what happened with Ronaldo. ­ Get the cash, buy Valencia from Wigan at just 17M and­ Benzima at 30M and perhaps get Ribbery 40M, though­ there is alot of competition for him. With that, I­ strongly see another player winning the footballer of­ the year award onced more from Old Trafford. Please­ let Ronaldo go and follow his dream (Real Madrid).

  6. Kaka, and now Perez want Ronaldo and Villa too? He­ should save money for defenders. RM gave up 52 league­ goals last season compare to Barca's 36. And 2-3­ good defenders can stop any world class striker.
