Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed the Bluebirds' interest in signing out-of-favour Charlton striker Marcus Bent.Bent is back at The Valley after failing to earn a permanent move to Wigan at the end of last season.
The striker scored seven goals for Latics, but Steve Bruce deemed Bent not to be an ideal partner for Emile Heskey in attack.
The 30-year-old appears to be out of the first-team reckoning at Charlton and has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Cardiff.
Reports have claimed that the FA Cup runners-up have tabled a £2million bid for the former Ipswich and Everton forward.
But, while acknowledging an interest, Ridsdale says the club have yet to make a firm offer for Bent.
Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo: "Marcus is a player we have made enquiries about, but we have not made a firm bid for him yet."
