Millwall striker Bas Savage is on the verge of signing for Tranmere after the Wirral club submitted an offer to their League One rivals. The 26-year-old will discuss terms with Rovers after a formal bid from manager Ronnie Moore last weekend.
Savage is reluctant to leave but is aware he may be surplus to requirements at the Den.
He told the South London Press: "If (manager) Kenny (Jackett) is happy for me to talk to Tranmere, it is a sign I am not going to be first choice next season.
"I have the option of another six months with Millwall but I don't want to end up with no club in January, and be out of the game for a couple of months, which is what happened last year.
"We'll see what happens. If it does come to it, I will be very sorry to leave Millwall because Kenny helped me a lot and I really enjoyed my time there."
