Southend United manager Steve Tilson has made a tentative enquiry in a bid to lure Bristol City defender Richard Keogh to Roots Hall. The 21-year-old spent the majority of last season out on loan at Carlisle and Cheltenham after falling out of favour at Ashton Gate.
Tilson is now hoping to sign Keogh to bolster his defensive options ahead of the new season.
"Richard is someone we have enquired about signing," Tilson told the Southend Echo.
"That's as far as it's gone so far and we're waiting for Bristol City to get back to us with more news.
"It's very early days but he would be a good signing for us."
