Ferrari has defended world champion Kimi Raikkonen after the team's Finnish driver pushed over a veteran photographer on the Silverstone grid last Sunday.
We reported that Frenchman Paul-Henri Cahier, who has been a F1 photographer for almost forty years, fell onto his back after Raikkonen shoved him for pushing a lens too close to the Finnish driver's face and standing on his equipment prior to the British Grand Prix.
Cahier in a statement denied getting too close or touching the 28-year-old's equipment, slamming Raikkonen's behaviour as the rudest he has seen among F1 champions.
"I fully understand Kimi's reaction," Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni told the Finnish broadcaster MTV3.
"It was a hard one (reaction), but we have to consider what (also) happened in that moment," he added.

wise words toney davies.
Parvez, love your sense of humour! Of course it was Mclaren's fault - just as all those crashes were Schumi's fault - even the ones where people drove into him!!! Personally, I'd ban the press and photographers from the grid before the race. They have plenty of opportunities to get pics and interviews, so why ruin the drivers' concentration. I'd especially ban Martin Brundle from the grid. The sight of him barging his way through the crowd and sticking a mike in someones face really annoys me. If I was a driver I'd shove his mike somewhere that the sun don't shine!!
For the guys who are involved in racist taunting, please guys, motor racing is an international sport, with sponsors and drivers from all over the world. Enjoy the sport - not the aggro! Hamilton may be British but I'm Ferrari through and through. May the best team/driver win, regardless of where he's from and who he drives for!
First of all, I am a Ferrari fan, always have been. However, that does not prevent me from having lots of respect for McLaren and Lewis Hamilton. Although I am glad that Kimi won last year, I was very impressed with Lewis, especially considering all that he had to go through in his first season. He definitely makes F1 more interesting. Remember all those runaway championships with Schumi? Although I enjoyed them immensely, I would much rather see a season like last year's or the current one. So, McLaren fans, get off Kimi's case and enjoy the season... It's a good one. Kimi has his faults, so does Lewis. No one is perfect. I just hope that the championship is decided on the track, and not by some stupid decision by the FIA. By the way, Parvez' comment was pretty funny. What the hell happened to the British sense of humor? (and fair play?) Also, there is no place in this world for racist, homophobic idiots. Time to evolve people!
I guess everything got run away on this story. Bottom line, Kimi do not interfere with the media and he would respect them not to interfere with him. However, whatever the frenchmen claims, if he could be shuffed to land on his ass, he was too close.
It is purely up to Paul-Henri Cahier to make charges against Kimi, but quess what, he decided not to. Why not? Because he new he overstepped by stepping on Kimi's equipment. What would the camera man do if one of the drivers step on their equipment?
to gayson g, First, I must express my deepest respect for all honest brits and their country which produced some of the fastes f1 drivers in history: graham, damon, coulthard, nigel, etc. But I bet u r not purely british u mop blood. girls should not have been thinking much of u, that's why your pleasure switched to your ass and u started looking for somebody to sodomize u.
To all mclaren's fans:
yeah it's a joke, nonetheless, it reflects pure reality. do u think fia was wrong to disqualify mclaren from the constructors champ? Weren't they caught red handed and admitted they cheated? do u think they were wrong to give lewis a penalty for what he did in Canada? didn't fia do the same with schumaker in Monaco for simulating an accident to stop the rest from challenging his time? where do u want this sport to be headed?
yusry y is not arab, he is an underperforming blow-hard from the depths of hell. Must be jobless 'cos he spends his every hour bitching about something or the other. If he is white, he is a pathetic example.
gayson g, you dirty racist, arabs r coming strong into the sport, look at the names on some cars' wings. there is a race in an arab country which I bet u don't watch because of your blind hatred for the arabs. and speaking of gays, britain is home for gays who want to marry. isn't that shameful pr§#! sucker? now go home, your "husband" must be worried about u.
hahaha.....wat a stupid british man...i tell u 1 more time u madefaker...........yusri is not arab name PUKIMAK...FIND THIS WORD FOR ME..................PUKIMAK KAU BRITISH....KAU PERGI MEMANTAT DENGAN MAK KAU..ADIK KAU..JOLOK JUBO BAPAK KAU BRITISH BUTUH.............come on jason g.......if u think u are genius
c'mon yusri......admit it,your an arab who hates brits....get the hell out of here.....bet you can't find yahoo mideast....camel came into extinction?........@#$% your brother you dog.......
c.parvez was just making a joke which must if not evyonehas missed and that was nomatter what goes wrong that it must be McLarens fault. Didn't anyone else get the joke??
That was very funny parvez. What's even funnier is that some people took what you said seriously.
hi ysury
you are the idiot, i never mentioned anything about race or colour. i also said that KR should also make a statement as to why he did it and how close he was.
you are just pathetic and should curl up in your little corner.
jayson g, who`s Arab????..see..that`s why u also stupid....yusri is not arab name u idiots brits..WHAT????arab all gays????hahahhahha....who cares...............u thinks all brits like u straight?????fcuk u...........
There will ALWAYS be a race issue in F1 if everyone's reaction to something is compared and contrasted to how it MIGHT have been handled differently had it been Lewis involved. I have no sympathy for photographers who interfere, no matter who the offended party is. Kimi had race to think about, eating some guy's camera lens, no matter what his experience, is not a welcome situation at that time....U READ THAT AZZHOLE..STEVE BINGHAM64.........GOOD ONE REA......SO...WHO`S STUPID NOW STEVE??? YOU OR ME???

Kimi had race to think about, eating some guy's camera lens, no matter what his experience, is not a welcome situation at that time (by the way, I've never liked anyone behind the wheel of a Ferrari and these days am a Red Bull fan, so this is NOT about liking the driver.)
If it was Lewis that did that, there would have been the devil to pay. And his father and ancestry would not have been spared. Just shows you what the 'boy' has to triumph over. Yet he drives...like a dream.
c.pervez u r a sick man or woman? Kimi Raikkonen behaved unprofessionally. Period! Are u so hateful of McLaren that when a story invovles Ferrari and misbehaving drivers u change it to McLaren,u punk.Wake up,@#$%!!!
what complete idiots those who are complaining about lewis hamilton when the incident was about kimi, are you blinkered into believing ferrari are the almighty i dont think so, grow up idiots, lewis won the race on his skill as a driver and with a supperb car from mclaren.
i quite agree with "Rod" if it had been anyone else they would have been brought before the drivers committee and punished for bring the sprot into disrepute. BUT as usual Ferrari get away with it yet again. the sport really does need a shake up and rules should be rules for everyone. KR needs to tell his side of things but i am afraid that Paul-henri IS ONE of the best photographers around for the sport and he has been around a long time and knows how close he can get etc. so i think KR is at fault and needs to be repremanded in some way by the FIA or the Drivers committee.
Parvez and Yusry are just idiots and are oblivious to the sport in general.
