Hull are ready to hand manager Phil Brown a new three-year contract as the club prepare for life in the Premier League.
Brown guided the Tigers to promotion via the Championship play-offs last season and chairman Paul Duffen is set to show his gratitude.
Duffen has confirmed that discussions are taking place and it is understood that Brown has been offered a new deal worth around £1million-a-year.
"Discussions are taking place with Phil over a new longer-term contract which will reflect his value to the club and his status as an accomplished manager with Premier League credentials," Duffen told the Yorkshire Post.
"Phil and I have developed both a good partnership and a friendship and I am confident that the deal will soon be done."
And Brown, who agreed a fresh one-year rolling deal last summer, hopes to sign new terms by the end of August.
"Hopefully by the end of next month, I should put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal," said Brown.
"There is nothing at this moment in time to report on because we are just talking."
