Serie A - Fiorentina consider United complaint

Eurosport - Wed, 09 Sep 14:51:00 2009

Fiorentina are considering a formal complaint to FIFA over the signing of teenage defender Michele Fornasier by Manchester United.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 Serie A Fiorentina Pantaleo Corvino - 0

The Italian club (sporting director Pantaleo Corvino pictured here) have made initial contact with FIFA but no investigation has yet been launched.

United are confident of their legal position - players aged under 18 are not legally permitted to sign contracts in Italy and Fornasier was not contracted to Fiorentina when he was signed by the Manchester club this year.

Fiorentina are furious at losing out on the 16-year-old, however, and have written to FIFA.

A FIFA spokesman said: "FIFA can confirm that we were contacted by Fiorentina with regard to the potential transfer of the player, Michele Fornasier, to Manchester United.

"However, so far no formal investigation was opened since the relevant documentation still needs to be completed. Only then will we be in a position to evaluate possible future steps to be taken."

  1. 'Bike 69, mabaho ka !' I'll grant you that Liverpool did well in the late 70s & early 80s, but I remember when they were a permanent fixture in the old 2nd Division (pre Bill Shankly)!

  2. dave fleming, you are correct, it is RESERVED for man ure, so until you have past Liverpool`s land mark of 5 European top awards then that honour still belongs to Liverpool.
    To your other question, Yes.

  3. 'Bike 69, mabaho ka !' You are correct - for a change - you spotted the deliberate mistake, (the for then).
However, enough frivolity, back to business. No person who still had any marbles remaining inside their head, would ever equate Liverpool with the term 'The Greatest Football Club on Earth'. That is reserved for the world renowned Manchester United. By the way, do you actually live in the Philippines?

  6. You would use the term "Liverpool" to describe the greatest football club on earth.
The word "manure" is s**t on the fields and a minuscule football team that plays it`s home games at old trafford, there is no difference though !

  13. Its beacuse Italian sides cant sign players aged under 18 as they are not legally permitted to sign contracts in Italy, thats why they are not signing u 18 english kids!!, If they could they surely would!

no it is just you? im sure if other european clube were guilty of breaching player transfer laws they would be investigated

the fact that only english teams are being investigated and not just that but only clube like chelsea, manure and man city, goes to show that tho u may have enuf money to buy whoever you want if u think just cos u got money to throw around u can do what u want is wrong

Oh and FFS Manure "fans" and old red nose should STFU about how real madrid went about getting ronaldo

U did exactly the same thing with Rooney and Bebatov just to name a couple but of course its only wrong when others are doing it in your eyes

From peteandphoenix, on Wed 9 Sep 4:57PM
  16. Actually Chelsea wont get away with anything and they will have to endure their length transfer ban. Man U will not get anything because they always make sure to put everything down on documents and confer with their lawyers as because they are the richest sport club in the world there will always be teams trying to bring them down.
