Clemence on comeback trail

Leicester midfielder Stephen Clemence has stepped up his bid for fitness following an 18-month injury lay-off.

Clemence has resumed full training and now hopes to get his career back on track with the Foxes after missing out on last season's title-winning campaign.

The 31-year-old, who has been under the knife twice since snapping his Achilles in March of last year, made a 30-minute substitute appearance on Tuesday as the reserves beat Derby 3-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Moor Farm.

First-team boss Nigel Pearson will have been pleased to see Clemence back in action in a game which also saw him given food for thought by wantaway striker DJ Campbell, who grabbed a hat-trick.
