Distin unsettled my Pompey exodus

Sylvain Distin revealed he was looking for stability when he moved to Everton from Portsmouth in the transfer window.

Pompey have lost several of their star players in the last year and Distin admitted the Fratton Park exodus had become unsettling.

The French defender said: "When you have players who have been together for a long time, that is a plus. And it is not just getting players, it is about getting the right players.

"I wanted to move to a club that was a lot more stable, Everton have been in the top six or top seven for a few years now and the team hasn't changed too much.

"They are trying to improve the squad, so stability is really important. I am not the kind of player who wants to change club every year - I like to feel comfortable and happy where I am."
