Sussex on Wednesday announced their final 15-man Champions League squad - minus Matt Prior, who is being rested from the high-profile tournament because of his international commitments.
This year's Twenty20 Cup winners confirmed earlier this week that the England wicketkeeper, who also did not take part in the domestic finals day at Edgbaston last month, would not be travelling with them to India. England have since thanked Sussex for their ongoing cooperation on the matter.
In Prior's place, Andrew Hodd will be Sussex's first-choice wicketkeeper - with youngster Ben Brown providing cover.
Prior's England one-day team-mate Luke Wright is, as expected, included in the Sussex squad - captained by Mike Yardy and also containing India leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, Pakistani seamer Yasir Arafat and West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Smith.
Yardy reported great excitement among his team-mates who, he warned, must first ensure they keep their eye on the ball for the remainder of the English summer - in the LV County Championship and NatWest Pro40.
"We're all very excited about the trip to India," said Yardy. "It's great for the club to be one of the first two counties to represent England.
"I'm proud to be leading such a great squad, but our main priority at the moment is to concentrate on the end of the English domestic season - before attention turns to the Champions League Twenty20."
The Sharks will be in Group B alongside New South Wales Blues and Diamond Eagles (South Africa), and their first match will be against the team from down under on October 11 in Delhi.
Sussex Champions League squad: M Yardy (captain), Y Arafat, W Beer, B Brown (wkt), P Chawla, J Gatting, R Hamilton-Brown, A Hodd (wkt), E Joyce, C Keegan, J Kirtley, R Martin-Jenkins, C Nash, D Smith, L Wright.
