Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson was critical of referee Martin Atkinson for the decisions that led to Chelsea's winner in the 1-0 win over United at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United
Carlo Ancelotti: "It was a difficult match for both teams because there was no space out on the pitch, it was very tighly balanced. That meant it was not a nice match to watch but it was a strong match with a great deal of pressing in midfield. The most important thing was that we did what we had to do that is, we beat a very good team who are also our best opponents. But we also know it is a long season and we have to maintain this sort of form and these sorts of results."
Alex Ferguson: "Clearly, Darren Fletcher's won the ball - Ashley Cole's never touched and has jumped up in the air - and then (Didier) Drogba's pulled Brown to the ground for the goal. The referee's position to make the decision was absolutely ridiculous, he can't see anything. He's got a Chelsea player (Joe Cole) standing right in front of him and he doesn't even move. It was a bad decision, but there's nothing we can do about it. You lose faith in refereeing sometimes, that's the way the players are talking in there - it was a bad one. That goal should never have been allowed. We've dominated the game; we've had great chances to win the match - and that's our fault."
Hull City 2-1 Stoke City
Hull assistant Brian Horton: "(Phil Brown) is having a Guinness - he deserves one. He does like the spotlight - there's nothing wrong with that - but tonight he's chosen not to. He's just come out of the spotlight. He's having a Guinness. Why shouldn't he? He's a good manager and does lots of good things that people don't see. He's got a great future in the game."
Tony Pulis: "We're disappointed. It is the third time we have led away from home this year and not won the game. We weren't at our best - but when Matty (Etherington) scored we were hoping that would take us on. I'm desperately disappointed with the two bookings. The second one, looking at the replays, (Abdoulaye Faye) had not caught Nick Barmby at all."
Wigan Athletic 1-1 Fulham
Roberto Martinez: "I'm happy with the performance, but not the point. If you look at the amount of chances we created we wanted to get all three. The difference between one point and three was Mark Schwarzer - his display was outstanding."
Roy Hodgson: "I was very pleased with the point, especially after the excitement and pressure of the Liverpool game and the grave disappointment in Rome in midweek. Wigan are a very good team, and the players showed a lot of character and determination - so I have to be really happy with a point. It was more a 3-3 game than a 1-1, and Mark Schwarzer had to bring off some spectacular saves from their long-range shooting."
Gianfranco Zola: "It is a big question mark for me, how can we lose a game like that. We have to analyse the problems first and find solutions. I felt the players gave everything. Their attitude and their commitment was very good. But we have to find out straight away what is not working well, because it is not doing us any favours."
David Moyes: "We have not played that well, so we cannot ask for any more. When it was 2-0, I felt we had shored it up with nearly a perfect away performance where you have got the goals, but did not play that well. The key is always to find a winning formula, and today we have found one. But we need to play better than we have done. At the moment, we are lacking just a bit of quality. October was a tough month, with probably too many matches for the same group of players.

Aaron.
The answer to your question very simply, is when he is beaten fairly and not by bent or blind referees as in too many games so far this season.
Whatever Chelski Bolcheviks say, video play back and statistics totally support Fergie.
Further, MUFC were by far the better team and deserved to win. Most of the Chelski posters here must have been watching a distorted Russian transmission or another match somewhere to claim that they were in control of the match!
However, MUFC fans are quite used to criticism, abuse and pathetic attempts at wit and repartee BECAUSE WE ARE THE BEST and we are Champions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loosers are anonymous
It is about time the authorities stamped down on Ferguson, the man is a disgrace to the game and should be stripped of his knighthood, he didnt deserve it in the first place, what type of role model is he? EUFA should make the rule no verbal discussion of officials, if a complaint is to be made it should be in writing only, if managers abuse the rule, ban and minimum fine of one months wages.
SFA is a very poor loser and sets a very bad example to others, on how to be gracious in defeat. His terrible example, of constantly criticising referees, is copied by parks football managers, on Sunday mornings, all over the country. Because of this I stopped refereeing. Who needs the abuse on a Sunday morning? I only took up reffing after my non-league football career ended and I wanted to still be involved with the game I love. Getting constantly sworn at and threatened, by managers and players, soon made me see sense. There are many like me who are quitting the game because it's no fun being abused all the time. But without people like me there soon won't be any referees getting promoted to the Premier League and what will SFA do when he doesn't have a referee for his matches? Thanks for helping to ruin our game SFA.
United were the slightly dominant but is was pretty equal I would say.I am a man United fan but very happy because everyone says United are finished and yet they gave as good as they got to possible one of the best teams in Europe. baring in mind,Rio,Vidic,Berbatov,Gary neville.Owen Hargreaves were missing I am failing to see how we are finished! Silva and Villa will be on their way soon as well or players in that mould ie:World class striker and playmaker.United have very young players in their squad,Chelsea will not have many more seasons from a few of their players. They also lose their heartbeat when the African nations Cup is played.United finished? We will see!

He only ever complains about the referees when his team loses. If they played better they would have won. Stop winging!!! You just like the PM!!

West Ham 1 - 2 Everton - The score is back to front ed!
Ferguson must be the most hated manager in football.Thinks everything should revolve around him and teaches his players to verbally assault referees in order to get decisions.Used to have respect for some of the players, but his teachings and rantings have rubbed off on them to a bad effect.Read he wanted Giggs knighted, who the f--k does he think he is (King ?)Put some super glue in his chewing gum to shut his mouth and that incessant chewing must get on everyones nerves. And the master stroke of signing has been Michael Owen has been a great success (i dont think) complete waste of time. How the f--k is it sir a.f. should have been SERF.
HAHAHAHA, moan on phallicks, ur cheating didnt work this time u loser
