Kettering to face Leeds

Mon, 09 Nov 14:57:34 2009

Non-League Kettering will take on former FA Cup winners Leeds in the second round of the competition.

Mark Cooper's Blue Square Premier side were rewarded for Saturday's 1-0 win over Hartlepool with a home draw against the runaway Coca-Cola League One leaders, who won the FA Cup in 1972.

Blue Square North side Northwich Victoria, who beat Charlton 1-0 earlier on Sunday, were drawn at home to Lincoln.

Staines Town of the Blue Square South, the conquerors of Shrewsbury in the first round, could meet another League One team in Millwall, if the Lions see off AFC Wimbledon on Monday.

York, who ended Crewe's hopes in the last round, were given a tricky-looking trip to Blue Square Premier rivals Cambridge United.

Blue Square South side Bath City, who beat Grimsby on Saturday, were paired with Forest Green or Mansfield.

Elsewhere, Northampton are at home to Southampton, Hereford face Colchester, Wrexham are up against Swindon and Milton Keynes Dons take on Exeter.

Tranmere or Leyton Orient play Aldershot, Bournemouth are up against Notts County, Oxford United play Barrow and Stockport host Torquay.

Wycombe or Brighton, who shared eight goals in the first round, were drawn against Rushden & Diamonds, while Luton Town or Rochdale were handed a trip to Wealdstone or Rotherham.

Gillingham play Burton or Oxford City, Gateshead or Brentford face Walsall, Carlisle or Morecambe take on Norwich, Accrington Stanley host Barnet and Port Vale or Stevenage tackle Huddersfield. The ties will be played on the weekend of November 28 and 29.
