Red Bull Salzburg (face Manchester City at the City of Manchester Stadium on Wednesday December 1)

Wiener Neustadt 1-0 Red Bull Salzburg

Wiener Neustadt leapfrogged Red Bull Salzburg into fifth place in the Swiss Bundesliga table after beating them 1-0.

Midfielder Patrick Wolf got his third league goal of the season midway through the first half to move three points above Salzburg, having been behind them on goal difference going into the match.

Steaua Bucharest (face Liverpool  at the Stadionul Ghencea on December 2)

Rapid Bucharest 0-0 Steaua Bucharest

Steaua failed to move up into the European places of the Romanian Liga 1 table after being held to a goalless draw at city rivals Rapid.

Sixth-placed Steaua are now a point behind their either neighbours, Dinamo, four points behind Rapid and a full 10 points off the pace of leaders Otelul Galati.

Steaua will travel back to the Stadionul Valentin on Thursday to take on Rapid in a cup tie.

  2. Erm, Salzburg and Neustadt play in the Austrian league. there is no such thing as the Swiss Bundesliga anyway. For EUROsport journos, the standard is utterly atrocious.
