Notts County boss Ian McParland has revealed Scunthorpe have recalled striker Jonathan Forte from his loan spell at the Magpies.The 22-year-old will go straight into Scunthorpe's squad for Saturday's League One encounter with Northampton - much to the disappointment of McParland.

McParland told the club's official website: "I spoke to Nigel Adkins (Scunthorpe manager), who informed me that they will be invoking the clause in the loan agreement to recall Jonathan after 28 days.

"It's a shame he couldn't have stayed with us longer because he was a good outlet for us with his pace, but we knew there was always a chance he could go back.

"I would like to thank Nigel for allowing him to temporarily team up with us, and we wish Jonathan all the best.

"He did well for us and his hat-trick at Barnet on his debut was a memory he can cherish from his time at Meadow Lane."
