Yeovil manager Russell Slade has been boosted by the return to competitive action of summer signing Marc Bircham following injury.The former QPR midfielder featured as a playing substitute - along with fit-again Marvin Williams - in Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat by Walsall.

Speaking about Bircham Slade said: "I was really pleased with Birch, he did really well in the 25 minutes or so he played, especially when you consider it was only his second game for us this season. The great thing is that both of those two have come out of the game without any reaction."

Next up for Yeovil are Southend away on Saturday.

Meanwhile defender Terrell Forbes is set to miss the home game against Oldham on Saturday January 19 after receiving his fifth booking of the season against Walsall.
