Valencia boss Ronald Koeman has revealed his desire to hijack Juventus' move for unsettled Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko.Sissoko has struggled to hold down a first-team place at Anfield following the arrival of Javier Mascherano and the Mali international recently revealed he is keen for a "new challenge".
Claudio Ranieri is keen to land the 22-year-old after working with him at Valencia and Sissoko has already admitted he wants the deal to go through.
But the move could now be thrown into doubt, with Koeman admitting he wants to take him back to the Mestalla
"We know the deal is complicated but it is not complete," Koeman told the Daily Mirror. "He has all the characteristics of the player we need."
Koeman, who took over at Valencia earlier in the season, recently completed his first signing when he captured Argentine youngster Ever Banega from Boca Juniors.
And the Dutchman is keen to further strengthen his squad as he attempts to steer Valencia, who currently sit seventh in La Liga, to a Champions League spot.
