Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is on the trail of out-of-favour Birmingham midfielder Neil Danns as he looks to freshen up his squad.Warnock, who on Wednesday signed Reading's John Halls on loan, is eager to bolster his squad further this month and has enquired about the availability of Danns.

The 25-year-old has struggled to break into the Birmingham side since joining from Colchester in the summer of 2006 and has started just two League Cup games this season.

"I spoke to his agent but there is nothing concrete to report," Warnock told the South London Press.

Warnock has also offered a trial to Egyptian defender Ahmed Abou Mosalem, who currently plays for Strasbourg.
