Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has admitted that he would be interested in bringing Arsenal's Lassana Diarra to St James' Park.
Diarra's future at The Gunners is uncertain at present, with a number of club's - including Everton and Portsmouth - reportedly chasing the unsettled midfielder.
The France international only joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer, but after finding regular first-team football hard to come by, a move is looking likely.
Furthermore, Diarra was left out of Arsene Wenger's squad for Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham.
And Allardyce, who is keen to bolster his squad in the January transfer window, has admitted that he would be keen to secure the 22-year-old's services.
"If it's a possibility, we would always consider somebody who has good Premier League experience who we think would be a good addition to our team," he said.
