Resurgent Championship outfit Cardiff have signed Blackburn goalkeeper Peter Enckelman on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 30-year-old moved to Rovers in 2004 but has made just two first-team appearances during his time at Ewood Park.

The Finnish keeper had previously made over 50 appearances for Aston Villa.

A statement on the Cardiff official website said: "We can confirm that goalkeeper Peter Enckelman, the former Finland Under-21 and Senior International, has joined Cardiff City on loan from Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the season.

"Peter's move was completed on Thursday morning, and he will be in the squad for Saturday's Championship home match against Sheffield Wednesday."
