Birmingham City have completed the loan signing of West Ham midfielder Lee Bowyer until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old will become Alex McLeish's fifth signing of the January transfer window after Keith Fahey, Robin Shroot, Scott Sinclair and Hameur Bouazza all joined the Championship side.
McLeish said: "Lee's a dynamic player and I want to bring a dynamic look back to the team.
"Roy Aitken, one of my assistants, has worked with him at Leeds and knows him as an attacking midfielder but he also knows that Lee can give a lot to the team as well."
Bowyer rejoined West Ham when he returned to the Boleyn Ground from Newcastle in June 2006 but so far this campaign has featured in only seven games for the Hammers, scoring one goal - in the club's 4-1 Carling Cup win over Macclesfield.

another square peg in a round hole.do blues fans really think bowyer would have come to brum if he had the choice of a london club that would pay the wages blues would pay.and here lies the problem it is a team of mercenaries.the one thing you notice when blues play is the lack of passion for the shirt, you get the impression that a lot of them dont enjoy playing for blues and the lack of loyalty jumps out at you.
half the season gone and big eck brings in all these guys i think he wants us back in the premiership in one hit but us bluenoses want a day out at wembley before we start losing again and come back down after we beat villa but thats all that matters.
Naughty boy goes to Brum!!! Now he must go to Cardiff to show how hard he really is. The Bluebirds will peck him into submission. Come on you Bloooooooos.
bouazza , bowyer , boyd . mcleish must be working his way through the phone book!!!
here we go again the bowyer saga let the man come to blues its about time we got someone with bottle and you got to give him that, will the same people who say they are blues fans be slagging him off if he starts getting goals or creating goals to get us to the premiership i dont think so give him a chance

Paul Oates - so, it's ok to have a Scottish manager but not players? You are a fool and a bigot ...oh and a Brum fan. I remember when you lot took the p... when the Sky Blues took the drop...welcome back to reality.
To all you Brum fans don't judge a book by its cover, through all his time at Leeds I never saw him once put in less than 100* He is just the right kind of player to help you get out of The Championship, good luck!
Karl
bowyer and carsley centre mids looks good but when is he going to sort the real problem out we need defenders good ones not scottish ones
As a diehard Bluenose, I appreciate what Big Eck is trying for the dynamics of the side but cannot help feeling that this signing is a mistake. Bowyer is, without doubt, a player of questionable mental stability, who's reputation precedes him wherever he goes. He will be targeted by away fans, which will put pressure on him, and mistrusted by home fans, which puts pressure on the rest of the team. Why sign him, but let Quincy , who's got ten years over Bowyer, go back to Russia? I really hope you have a plan McLeish!
I am an open-mineded single girl who love sports. I want to end my single life by meeting
a guy who likes sports too. Let's mingle at the club ___ kISs M ill iona ireS Co m __
Bowyer is a dribbling mong. Should feel at home.
evanskopite , WHAT A RETARDED COMMENT , YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW A LOT ABOUT FOOTBALL , I AM A TRUE BLUE NOSE , AND LIKE MOST POLITE PEOPLE DONT COME IN HERE AND SLAG OTHERS OFF , BUT YOU ARE A TOTAL PRATT FOR SAYING THAT , THUGS ARE AT EVERY FOOTBALL CLUB , STICK TO WHAT YOU DO BEST , CLAIM THE DOLE , EEJIT
How long will it take before he hits the headlines for the wrong reasons? Bowyer may be a skillful player but he "has issues". McLeish must be desperate!
good luck, best player west ham have had for ages
'Thug'
What year is it? 1983
Ha ha ha ha haaaaa
the perfect signing... a convicted thug playing for a football club that is run by and supported by thugs.
