Keith Downing believes Cheltenham have passed a valuable test in their fight against relegation after a stunning 2-1 win over Brighton. The Robins trailed to a Jake Robinson goal going into injury time, but emerged victorious following two sensational late goals by Alex Russell and Steven Gillespie.
Downing said: "It was a test of our self-belief. Two weeks ago we went a goal-down against Millwall and lost, but this time we still played our football and managed to get the win.
"We have got some good footballers with the likes of Brooker, Russell and Scott Brown back in the squad, but a concern is our lack of goals.
"We've only scored 22, so when we were 1-0 down the question was 'can we come back' and the fact we did will give the players valuable self-belief."
