Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling expressed his relief after Adam Chambers scored a late goal to snatch a 1-1 draw with promotion rivals Tranmere.Rovers had led since since Calvin Zola's second-minute strike and should have gone on to build up a healthy lead but they missed some gilt-edged chances and battling Orient refused to throw in the towel and were rewarded through Chambers in the 88th minute.
"I didn't think it was going to happen for us but it was all about 'stickability'," said Ling.
"We were more effective in the second half after a poor first period. The goal we gave away was not a good one on our part. Three or four players had to bear some of the blame.
"It's difficult enough to come here to play against an in-form side and to go a goal down so early made it worse for us.
"But we refused to give in and kept knocking on the door. It was a bit of a surprise when Chambers popped up with the equaliser and it was Tranmere who were panicking in the end. The substitutes certainly helped to change the game for us. It's now vital we beat Crewe in midweek."
