Money salutes solid Saddlers

Sun 10 Feb, 03:30 PM

Walsall manager Richard Money felt his side had given a "solid, professional performance" in completing the double over Yeovil with a 2-0 win.Fans had feared the worst after the club sold star defenders Scott Dann and Daniel Fox to Coventry City for over £1million, but the new-look defence kept a clean sheet as the Saddlers moved up to joint third in the League One table.

And Money said: "I thought it was a solid, professional performance. We got the job done, got the three points and now move on to a very difficult game on Tuesday at Swansea."

Money was pleased that the two players we has brought in on loan in recent weeks, Lee Holmes from Derby County and Kevin Betsy from Bristol City, scored the second-half goals that won the match.

But he also praised his central defenders Anthony Gerrard and Ian Roper for the part they played in keeping a clean sheet.
