Manchester United v Manchester City (13:30)

United are without two of their season's best performers for what is sure to be an emotionally-charged Manchester derby, the suspended Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra.

With Louis Saha injured, Paul Scholes should support Carlos Tevez in attack although Sir Alex Ferguson is also said to be considering giving 17-year-old striker Danny Welbeck his senior debut.

Benjani could make his City debut now that his transfer from Portsmouth is complete.

Playmaker Elano is suspended, so manager Sven-Goran Eriksson may break routine and play two strikers, with Daniel Sturridge the most likely option.

Vedran Corluka is also suspended but Micah Richards is fit after a back injury.

Chelsea v Liverpool (16:00)

Frank Lampard is back in the Chelsea squad and could figure after recovering from a thigh injury.

John Terry is still out but the Blues backline is boosted by the return of Ricardo Carvalho from suspension and John Obi Mikel has returned from the African Cup of Nations.

Injuries to Fernando Torres and Andriy Voronin mean that Peter Crouch and Dirk Kuyt will head the Liverpool attack, while John Arne Riise comes in for Fabio Aurelio.

Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Agger are also missing, Xavi Alonso is suspended and Ryan Babel is doubtful with an ankle injury.
