Toulouse extended their lead at the top of the Top 14 with a 20-15 victory away at Biarritz.

The league leaders scored three tries in the opening half hour, but a series of missed kicks by Luke McAlister and some solid kicking by his opposite number Benoit Baby kept Biarritz in the match.

Damien Traille then added a drop goal to get Biarritz to within five points but Toulouse hung on to win.

In the night's other match Montpellier eased to a 22-11 victory over Perpignan at Stade Yves du Manoir.
