Wycombe manager Paul Lambert has dismissed a report linking him with a return to Motherwell as a summer replacement for Mark McGhee.A Sunday newspaper claimed that the former Well midfielder was a candidate to take over at Fir Park if McGhee left at the end of the season.
But Lambert, whose team sit fifth in League Two, said: "It's absolute rubbish and the main reason why I never bother to read the Sunday papers.
"This is pure invention and I have no intention of going anywhere."
The former Livingston manager added on Wycombe's official website: "I've enjoyed every minute of my time at Wycombe and I've still got a big job to do here. There's no way I'll be quitting."
McGhee is in the first season of a three-year contract at Motherwell, who he has guided to third place in the Scottish Premier League.
But, after being interviewed for the Scotland job in January, he said he would consider any offer that was put to him following the end of the season.
