McAllister in line for first start

Mon 10 Mar, 06:15 PM

Sean McAllister could come in to make his first start of the season for Sheffield Wednesday at Colchester on Tuesday night. The 20-year-old midfielder made his first appearance of the campaign when stepping off the bench just before half-time in Saturday's win over QPR and turned in an impressive performance.

But Owls manager Brian Laws will be without on-loan Chelsea striker Ben Sahar again.

The Israeli teenager missed out on Saturday due to a hamstring strain and has returned to Stamford Bridge for treatment.

Laws will also be without midfielders Adam Bolder, who serves the last of a two-game ban and Jermaine Johnson, who will sit out the second of a four-match suspension.

Francis Jeffers, Frank Simek, Akpo Sodje (all ankle), Lee Bullen (hamstring), Etienne Esajas (foot) and Peter Gilbert (groin) are all still out.
