McParland waiting on County trio

Mon 10 Mar, 08:00 PM

Notts County manager Ian McParland will keep an eye on the fitness of Richard Butcher, Paul Mayo and Danny Crow ahead of the visit of Lincoln.Former Imps Butcher (rib) and Mayo (foot) sustained injuries against Barnet while on loan striker Crow (shin) also suffered a knock during the goalless home draw.

McParland, who is already with out Kevin Pilkington (fractured leg), Lee Canoville (groin), Gavin Strachan and Myles Weston (both hamstring), will give the trio as much time as possible to recover.

He said: "We have got a few struggling. We only had 13 players training on Monday because of a few niggling injuries.

"We will give all of the lads who might have a chance of playing as long as possible to prove their fitness. We will see how they are on the day of the game, look at the casualty list and see who we can patch up and get out there against Lincoln.

"Luckily most of them are only niggles, but we will not risk any of the players if they are not ready because we do not want to lose them for longer."
