Arsenal's Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he has no regrets about leaving Barcelona to join the Gunners, but has not ruled out a move back to Spain in the future.

The midfielder played in the same Barca youth teams as current Nou Camp starlets Lionel Messi and Giovani dos Santos, before being lured to North London by Arsene Wenger at the age of 16.

Speaking on Catalan television programme Gol a Gol, Fabregas said: "I don't know [if I will return]. I'm fine where I am, I'm learning a lot and I'm at the ideal club to grow, with a great coach and good team-mates.

"He [Wenger] is the best coach I've ever had and the more time I spend working with him, the more I learn.

"In the future I don't know, but I'm happy where I am.

"Everyone chooses their own path in life. I chose one and I can't complain. I don't know how things would have gone for me at Barca and I'd prefer not to think about it."

Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to two points on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Wigan, but second-placed Manchester United have a game in hand.

Barca, meanwhile, went down 2-1 at home against Villarreal, meaning reigning champions Real Madrid are now eight points clear at the top of La Liga.
