Coventry goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos has undergone surgery to mend a ruptured Achilles tendon - and will miss the rest of the season. The giant Greek suffered the injury in his first training session with Nottingham Forest after joining the League One club on loan last month.
"Dimi has had an operation, it is not as bad as we first thought but he won't play for the rest of the season," said Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman.
"I did the same injury when I was at Blackburn - playing against Coventry at Highfield Road actually - and they are complicated injuries. There is not a lot he can do with it for a while."
Meanwhile, City striker Wayne Andrews could also be set for an operation after he suffered knee ligament damage in his first game on loan at Bristol Rovers.
Coleman added: "Wayne's injury is also not as bad as we first thought, but it has also put paid to what was left of his season.
"He may not need an operation, but he wants one just for security because he is leaving the club in the summer. I can understand that because while he is still under contract here, we can sort that out for him."
