Davies desperate to beat Royals

Thu 10 Apr, 01:30 PM

Fulham midfielder Simon Davies is aware of just how important it is for his side to get maximum points against Reading this weekend. The relegation-haunted Cottagers have yet to win away from Craven Cottage and know they need a winning run if they are to have any chance of survival.

Davies told the club's official website: "We keep saying that every game is a must win at the minute.

"We've got to improve on the performance against Sunderland which obviously wasn't good enough all round. We keep saying the right things but we're still losing on the pitch so all the talking has to stop and we have to start delivering.

"There's a good attitude amongst the lads and they are all good professionals here but it's all about what you do on Saturday.

"We are doing the right things every day in training but we just haven't been able to take them across onto the match.

"It's just disappointing because we believe we're good enough to stay up but we just haven't been able to show our ability on the pitch.

"We've still got points to play for but with five games to go we've probably got to win four out of those five. If we can get that first win away from home, I think it will be a massive boost to everyone - and for that reason, a lot is riding on Saturday."
