Magpies goalkeeper staying positive

Thu 10 Apr, 05:30 PM

Notts County goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington is hoping for positive news in his recovery from a leg fracture when he has his latest scan. The 34-year-old will have an X-ray at the end of the week which will determine whether he can step up his rehabilitation from the injury he suffered in a training ground accident in mid-February.

If he gets the all clear, Pilkington remains confident he will be available for selection for County's final two games of the season against Wycombe and Chesterfield.

"If everything goes well with the X-ray it will be a big step forwards," Pilkington told the club's official website. "I would be able to step up my return and take part in some football activities in training and see how the leg responds.

"I feel in good shape and I've been working hard in the gym to keep my fitness at a good level. I was jogging for the first time on Monday, which is another step forwards.

"I am determined to come back and play my part. I am still confident I will be back for the last few games and up for selection."
