Kevin Phillips has shelved contract talks with West Brom until the end of the season to concentrate on the club's bid for automatic promotion.Phillips, who is Albion's top scorer this season with 24 goals in all competitions, has been in negotiations over a new deal for much of the campaign with his current contract due to expire in the summer.
The 34-year-old's agent, Phil Smith, insists his client remains 'open minded' about his situation but wishes to channel all of his efforts into ensuring the club finish in the Championship's top two.
"We made the decision that we don't want to elongate the discussions any further for now," Smith told the Express and Star.
"Kevin is very open-minded, but at the moment we are at the business end of the season and we are at a stage where so much is riding on every game."
