Departing Wolves defender Rob Edwards has backed manager Mick McCarthy to take the Molineux club back to the Premier League.The Wales international was put on the transfer list this week but admitted he has no hard feelings towards the former Republic of Ireland boss.

"Mick is the right man to take Wolves to the Premier League, 100 per cent," he told the Express & Star.

"Who can you name that would do a better job? He has experience at all levels from promotion to international and I'm sure Wolves will be right up there next season."

He added: "I've had a fair crack of the whip. I've had a few injuries that haven't helped, but I can't blame that on not playing

"I've played a few games and personally I think I could of done better. But I gave everything and the gaffer knows that"
