Airwaves Ducati rider Shane Bryne went quickest in the final practice session ahead of Sunday's two British Superbike Championship races at Brands Hatch.
Byrne topped the times ahead of team-mate Leon Camier, who had briefly bettered his time with ten minutes of the session remaining, only for the championship leader to go even quicker.
Bryne, whose time of 1:27.158 in the first session proved to be the fastest of the day, completed 21 laps in the second session - more than any other rider.
He will start on pole after having already secured his position in the opening round back in April, before the event was postponed and rescheduled.
"I am really happy with the Airwaves Ducati," Byrne told the official BSB website. "The team are working really hard; they spend hours preparing the bike and I only spend half an hour riding it so I get the easy part really.
"The Oulton Park double was only a few days ago and now I need to emulate that again tomorrow. I am just concentrating on a race by race basis; it is far too early to think about the championship at this stage."
Team-mate Camier said: "I am feeling a lot better, we have changed a few things on my Airwaves Ducati and I am feeling much more comfortable with it now.
"Physically I feel good and after my result at Oulton Park I am a lot more confident about my race fitness. Tomorrow I want to get a good start so I can get away with the front runners and push for a podium finish."
