Sbragia hails Fulop save

Sun, 10 May 11:43:12 2009

Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia admitted Marton Fulop`s stoppage-time save to preserve a point at Bolton could turn out to be "significant".

Kieran Richardson squandered opportunities for the Black Cats in the goalless draw, before Fulop, who had barely had a shot to save, kept out a Gary Cahill header which seemed set to creep in.

"It could be a significant save," said Sbragia. "If we had lost it would have been a big disappointment because I felt we did enough to get something from the game."

Bolton boss Gary Megson added: "I thought it was in. It was a magnificent save. I could not see him getting across and getting his fingertips to it."

  1. I have been saying this all season that Martin Fulop is a far superior goalkeeper than Craig Gordon.
He is a very genuine footballer and seems to have passion about the club and belief that he can assist in keeping us in the EPL.
His Father , played in goal for Hungary, also he played in goal in the film escape to Victory. Could this link be a touch of Karma??????? Heres hoping that we can escape relegation and rise to another victory and push to a higher position in the league and show these southern teams that we are not a push over as portrayed in the media and MOTD.
Now all that remains is to get rid of the rubbish Fulop has playing infront of him and hope that another premireship team doesnt come in and steal him away for next to nothing or on a free transfer.
