Newcastle boss Alan Shearer is facing a midfield headache for the crucial Barclays Premier League clash with Middlesbrough.
Joey Barton begins his three-match suspension after being sent off at Liverpool last Sunday while Alan Smith is a major doubt with a thigh problem.

come on boro we need a win
players get injured cause the staff dont know any better dont know correct methods. needs to get rid of a load of players/sick notes
we are fu**ed, were going down, championship watch out!!
I think part of the problem is that Shearer isn't a qualified coach. Just because he is an ex=player doesn't mean he has management and motivational skills. His 'appointment' was made to placate the fans in an effort to 'con' them into thinking the Board actual;ly care and to deflect some of the criticism away from the mess thay have made. It's a no lose situation for Shearer. If Newcastle go down, and they probably will it'll be "Well it wasn't Alan's fault. He tried his best." If they stay up he will become the new Messiah (the one they thought Keegan was.)
Hoorah Alan Smith is injured. Utter donkey. A striker who doesn't score goals so he goes into midfield and couldn't hold water. Play Nolan with Jonas and Lovenkrads on the wings.
for gods sake why are our players always injured - half of the injuries are because of the training ground!!
