LONDON (AFP) - Tottenham Hotspur announced Tuesday the signing of teenage Mexico forward Giovani dos Santos from Barcelona.

The 19-year-old has now passed a medical and agreed terms with the north London club.

Giovani told the the Premier League club's website, spurs.co.uk: "It is a dream for me to come to a big club like Spurs. I've come here to further explore my qualities and give my all for my new team."

Tottenham finished 11th in the Premier League season but qualified for European football after winning the League Cup.
