Llanelli Scarlets have appointed veteran back Garan Evans as team manager.

The 35-year-old, who spent 15 years as a player at Stradey Park from 1993, has signed a contract for three years, during which time he will be developed as the region's back-three skills coach.

New head coach Nigel Davies said: "We want to build a coaching team with as many specialists as possible. Garan's talents as a wing and full-back are widely recognised and I look forward to him starting in his new role next week."
