Birmingham chairman David Gold is happy with the progress made on Alex McLeish's rebuilding programme so far this summer.
The Blues boss is targeting reinforcements for the Barclays Premier League campaign and has already smashed the club`s transfer record with the purchase of Ecuador forward Christian Benitez.
More new faces are expected to arrive in the coming week and Gold is happy that the board and the manager are working effectively together.
He told the Birmingham Mail: "David Sullivan is working very well with Alex and they have a great relationship when it comes to negotiations.
"My ultimate belief is that we will complete our programme of getting the people that Alex wants, obviously ideally he'd like to bring in a lot more than Birmingham City could afford.
"We don't want to blow up expectation as we have done before but we are quietly optimistic that we are going to pull off one or two signings that will set the season alight."

i wouldnt mind but.....i doubt we will be able to stay up next season ...who the hell is christian benitez??? never heard of him before in my life and if he is so good for the money in which he apparently is he would have been spotted before now and would be already playing for someone in the premier league.and this espinoza that weve nearly signed he really is terrible hes been in europe once in his career and he went straight back the following january....so surely even taylor would be better than him in defence?????.......seems like were as good as down
KEEP RIGHT ON NEVER THE LESS THOUGH!!!!
