Bournemouth captain Shaun Cooper has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract with the League Two club.

The 25-year-old, who would have been a free agent at the end of June, has joined team-mates Ryan Garry and Ryan Pryce in signing new deals at Dean Court.

Cooper believes the Cherries have a bright future under Eddie Howe and senses a promotion push could be on the cards next season.

Cooper told the Daily Echo: "I`ve always enjoyed my time here and I enjoy working with Eddie and the lads.

"We had a strong finish to last season and have got a good squad together so I feel this is the best chance since I`ve been here to challenge for promotion."
