Former Norwich captain Mark Fotheringham claims he has been invited to start pre-season training with Derby.

The 25-year-old left Carrow Road at the end of the season after his contract expired and the Canaries were relegated from the Championship.

The midfielder is also wanted by Coventry, but Fotheringham told the Coventry Telegraph: "I am not going to commit to anything.

"I am a free agent and it is a great position to be in approaching the new season.

"Derby gaffer Nigel Clough has invited me to start pre-season training with them and I like the idea of that."
